Turning order into chaos

To everything there is a season, right? And the chaos of this season—summer—has knocked me right out of my writing brain.

So I’ve been doing something I thought I had no interest in doing: collage.

At least I think it’s collage. Maybe there’s a different name for the habit I seem to have developed. Paper and glue. Colors. Designs. Cutting and snipping and trimming. Pasting and pasting and pasting … a strange therapy, making chaos out of order, a new order out of that new chaos.

Today, I share an image of the chaos—snips from a few local mags. Tomorrow, perhaps I’ll be ready to share the new order: an image initially inspired by a painting that evolved into a memory of a beautiful July night, twenty-seven years ago … ❤️
