Brief background
I have served as a consultant for businesses and citizens groups, providing research, writing and strategic communications services, and facilitating public involvement related to complex issues, including an interstate bridge and a tribal casino. I also have worked as a communications manager in public relations and community engagement for a K-12 education services co-op, where I helped school districts tell their stories, connecting them with families, staff and patrons, helping pass levies and explain education policy, and providing crisis communication services.
Additionally, I have taught yoga in business, church and private settings, and at the YMCA.
I bring a quarter century of writing/communication experience to every project, drawing on my background in public relations, journalism, creative writing and science writing — plus degrees in biology (BA), mass communication (MA) and creative writing/nonfiction (MFA), and yoga instructor certification.
